- Each kids is like all others and different from all others.
- need unconditional acceptance as human beings
- need to believe they can become something better than they are.
- need help in living up to their dreams (and sometimes figuring out their dreams)
- have to make their own sense of things
- often make their own sense of things more effectively and coherenly when adults collaborate with them.
- need action, joy and peace
- need power over their lives and learning.
- need help to develop that power and use it wisely.
- need to be secure in a larger world.
